It's fire is miraculous because the flames of two  candles of those in love come together to create one new light.  This candle also symbolizes commitment, as it takes two people working together to keep it ablaze.  Relight the unity candle each year to celebrate your wedding anniversary and your love as a couple.

After vows have been spoken, exchange a rose with one another to signify the first gift you give each other as a married couple.  In the future, offer a rose to celebrate milestones and special occasions.  You may present one another with a rose in difficult times to communicate "I still love you" when words aren't enough.  Offer hope and signify your commitment to your marriage.

As a wedded couple, you will close and lock the padlock together.  The keys that first opened your hearts  to one another can never be used to separate what has been joined in your wedding.  Toss the keys into the ocean, or bury beneath a newly planted tree.  Display the lock in your home a symbol of the strength and love in your marriage.

This is a beautiful and sentimental way to communicate your love to one another in writing.  Enclose a love letter to one another to be read on your one year anniversary.  Some couples choose to enclose several letters during the ceremony for special future events such as the purchase of your first home.  We encourage love,  communication and forgiveness.  Letters are placed in the box and "sealed"  for future opening.

This age old ceremony signifies strength.  A braided rope or cord is handed to the couple after the exchanging of the wedding rings, each holding one end of the rope.   You will be asked to pull on the ends to form a knot.  The finished knot symbolizes your future and how your love and marriage will continue to be strong.  The colors represent the following:

Red: LOVE

Orange: JOY

Yellow: HAPPINESS

Green: HARMONY

Blue: TRUST

Indigo: SINCERITY

Violet: PEACE

This ceremony dates back to the 1600's and has not only been used in Irish and Scottish weddings, but in ceremonies all around the world.  It is a timeless classic wherein the couple "binds" or ties their hands together during the wedding ceremony.  This joining of the hands with a cord, ribbon, decorative rope etc. signifies your connection and devotion to one another.  Display the tie in your home as a reminder of your vows, commitment and love.
